I always recommend a wedding make up trial beforehand. Over a few hours,

we will consider all the different make up styles and ideas!

Have great fun reviewing magazine clippings, material swatches, sketches, all the different aspects and then create your ideal wedding look for the bride

and any other guest who can attend the trial.

There is a big difference to applying wedding make up to everyday make up.

The most important thing is that you still look like you! That might sound strange but it takes many years of knowledge and skill to apply make up that looks naturally flawless close up but will not reflect with a high shine on the photographs.

Without making your face look a different shade to your neck or create white circles around your eyes! I'm always on hand to help the groom too!

I am solely a Make Up artist and do not do hair.

On larger bridal parties the Make Up artist and hairdresser work on different people at the same time to ensure everyone is ready in time. I have built up a recommended list of hairdressers who I trust 100% and would be very happy to send you my list..

I require full payment for the trial on the day and then a non refundable

30% deposit is required to hold the wedding day.

To date I have never not attended a wedding but this disclaimer is needed by law

Make Up Artist Esther Woolley founded EstherMarie Make Up Events and Workshops in 2004 using her 25 years of knowledge working within the fashion and cosmetic industries. In that time Esther has travelled Europe working with numerous leading names. She now inspires her Clients by revamping their MAKE Up bags, passing on her knowledge on how to use the correct Make Up products, promoting your best features and sharing the tricks of the trade...

During this time Esther clients were asking if there was an event that would suit their teenage daughters as the pressures of looking look were been felt.

Constant influences of the press and media meant that make up could be over used and skincare missed completely. Esther strongly believes Make up when used correctly in an age appropriate way has a wonderful place giving confidence and a positive experience. Attending one of her Teenage Beauty or `Girlie` Dream MakeUp Parties will ensure a positive Make up image is put across and skills are learnt that will last a lifetime.

Teenage Beauty parties can be seen as a fun lesson knowing the knowledge learnt will be used for the rest of their life, promoting confidence and self esteem. Working as a group girls develop a close bond and naturally share complimentary comments to each other and build closer relationships.

These Inspiring Parties are “very hands on” and can be tailored to your particular needs it could be a girls night in, afternoon party or in preparation for a prom or special event. So if you’re interested we would need to have a chat on the phone or by email to create your perfect party.

Here are a few guides and idea’s to get you started.....

Teenage Skincare and Make Up Parties

(Suits Ages 11-17 years) (approx. 2-3 hours)

Depending on the age of the group the techniques, products and colours will demonstrated on a `less is more approach`. Using my knowledge with in the fashion and beauty industry Magazines will be provided and used to discuss when a look is appropriate or not. For example – Party/Prom look – Interview look – School look – Up to date Fashion Look.... are all very different. Time is taken to make the girls aware of how important it is to achieve the desired look and when it should and should not be used. (Parents are welcome and are normally very happy to add any concerns they may have so that I can cover at this stage)

The practical session starts with the 5 key steps of skincare and time is taken on how important it is to be gentile on teenage skin. Learning how to promote your best features and cover up imperfections the girls start by working in pairs and are shown how to test for the correct foundation shade. Then each makeup step is demonstrated by me as the girls follow my every step. The girls can be rotated so they all get chance to sit on my Make Up Artists stool, or you may decide for the hostess/Birthday girl to stay on the stool... so she gets all the attention and her make up done for her.

Teenage Pampering and Skincare Parties

(Suits Ages 11-17 years) (approx. 2-3 hours)

Relax having with a foot soak, face pack and hand treatment.. Girls love having fun learning the art of how to pamper and care for their skin. The session starts with a full practical lesson on the 5 key steps of facial skincare and time is taken on how important it is to be gentile on teenage skin.. Face packs are applied and feet get a relaxing foot bath. The girls then become mini `therapists` practicing hand and foot massages on each other. .. Always involves lots of laughing and for sure pampering sessions will continue to be something they do on a regular basis.

Girlie Dream Make-Up Parties

(suits ages 7-10 years approx.)

Young girls can’t wait to get their hands on make up and anything that sparkles... Each girl will have sparkling nails & sparkling make up applied in soft gold’s & pinks by a professional MakeUp Artist, to create a natural and fun image to suit younger skins. To sit on a make up artists stool and wear a gown ...It`s a Girlie dream!! . A great event to have and the girls get very excited when they know a MakeUp Artist is on their way to see them!! I use high quality and hypo-allergenic products.

Location ?

The Location of your event could be a private party at your home or join a group session at a youth club, hotel or photographic studio. You can also combine your pamper party with a pink stretched limo.

How many can a Party be for and how long do they last?

Each party lasts between 2-3 hours, most bookings are between 4-10 girls. More than 10 Girls would need more time.

What’s needed ?

All make up, brushes, mirrors, tissues, skincare clipboards and Make Up charts are provided however girls can bring their own if they wish to use theirs.

At a home venue a table such as a dining table is needed with a chair for each girl.

Don’t forget your camera to capture the before or after shots!

Goodie bags & table decorations?

Goodie bags can be prepared, as a suggestion they would contain a lip gloss, brush and Make Up Bag or a full set of make up brushes & case....cost £10-£15 per girl.

Cost ?

There is a min of 3 guests needed at each event. Cost per guest is £15. Millage will be charged outside of the West Midlands area.

Basic Make-up Tips Every Woman Should Know

Make-up is the greatest woman’s beauty weapon, when applied properly.

So it goes with saying its good to know basic make-up tips to help camouflage your skin flaws easily and how to promote your natural beauty.

Here are a few of them............

Make-up Foundation Tips

The basis of any makeup look is no doubt a perfect and even complexion. Firstly you need to choose the correct foundation texture and shade and then pay special attention to its application.

Choose the correct foundation shade by applying a stripe across the cheek and leaving with out rubbing it in to see if it blends into your skin tone.

If you use a liquid foundation shake the bottle to mix all the pigment particles. I prefer a block foundation so you can mix your moisturiser and change the texture as you need to. Apply it to the centre of your face first paying attention to hairline, ear lobes, jaw line, and the area under the eyes.

I would always use a foundation brush.. buy one from EstherMarie they are professional quality and only £10. Most of my clients who get a brush wonder what they did without one. They make perfect presents too.

Foundation will even out your skin-tone and hide any blemishes, and will also provide a good base for the rest of your make-up. When putting on foundation, always do it in a bright room or by a window. This way, you can see what hasn't been blended-in properly.

Eye-liner Tips

Eyeliner is the most irreplaceable beauty device to most of my clients, but remember less is more!

Make sure your pencil is sharpened but without a point.. always blend with a cotton bud this will help to soften and last longer.. You can buy waterproof eye liner pencils from EstherMarie in over 20 shades for only £8.50!

If you should opt for liquid eye-liner it does fill the space between lashes that makes the lashes seem thicker. but application can be tricky..

Lipstick Tips

Don’t skip the exfoliation of your lips. It will provide your lips with smoother lipstick application.

If you have small lips then it is better to avoid dark red or brown lipstick shades, it is better to opt for flirty shimmery lip-gloss colours. For "plump" lips, apply liner just outside your natural lip line. Dab a bit of gloss in the middle of your bottom lip.

If you want to make your lips appear smaller, use concealer over natural lip line. Lessen the colour of a dark or bright lipstick or lip pencil with an overcoat of lip gloss.

Eye-shadow Tips

To add the vivid sparkle apply a bit of shimmering eye-shadow in the middle of your eyelid it looks nicer and if your over 40 too much sparkle shows up the wrinkles.

If you have had a lesson with EstherMarie you will know I always love matt eye-shadows,,, just 2 or 3 shades is all you need and if you get a good quality one like the EstherMarie eye-shadows £11.50 you can apply them with your fingers..

Brow Definition Tips

Eye brows are know as the coat hangers of your face! and simply put you can take years off you! So it’s worth having a go!

At an EstherMarie workshop you will get shown 2 ways..

1. To give colour..use a soft pencil, drag over the brow from the outer edge towards the nose, avoiding touching the skin, the pencil needs to be soft to do this, your aim is to get the pencil to stick to the eyebrow hairs.

2. To give lift...use a brow fixing gel comb the brow hairs upwards then place in position any hairs that remain pointing upwards. Be careful not to push all the hairs down and remove the `lift` you have just created!

Beautiful Blusher

If you have not mastered the art of blusher/bronzer then you are missing out!

Blusher can be used on its own to create a very natural look and can also be applied to the eye lids to give colour. This is also popular with busy Mom's and if you don't have a lot of time to apply your make up!

Applied in a letter `C` starting from the forehead to the cheek always using brush strokes from the hair line to the cheek area to avoid the `aunt Sally look!`

Finally to complete your look pick up your foundation brush and blend in for a perfect finish

A few weeks ago I had the wonderful opportunity of working with the very inspiring Jo Cameron most of you will know her from the hit TV show The Apprentice and a Winner of The Weakest Link . Jo is the brains behind the `Network of Aspiring Women` so she hand picked a fantastic team of professional Make up artists and hairdressers for a photo shoot with Andy from B72 Imaging

Set in the stunning Mallory Court Hotel in Warwickshire - The objective was to work with some of Warwickshire's top businesswomen and as Emily Jane said turning them into... 'ladies of the manor' for the day. When I arrived I was greeted by fabulous team of Makeup Artists, Hair Stylists and others who would all pull together for the shoot.

In the make up room - there was EstherMarie , Adele and Emily Jayne all with our own unique style. Being a make up artist you are normally working on your own so it was great fun to be part of a team, checking out each others kit and having lots of fun over looking the stunning gardens... Jo Cameron's Network of Aspiring Women are truly a great bunch of ladies. All very successful at what they do! Here are a few behind the scenes photos... A great day for sure.. cant wait to do it again!!

I can help you find the best suppliers, teach you how to budget and get organised. The key to a good wedding is planning and preparation. I will even visit you at home, A Genie for An Evening service designed to help you get started and cover all aspects of your wedding. I will even write it up for you to use as your road map to keep you on track. If you don’t know where or how to start planning, this is ideal. Many people think wedding planners only do the whole wedding. I think everyone should be able to have expert advice that is affordable. You can book me for just an hour if you like, I am totally flexible and will do exactly what you need me to do.

One of the most useful services you can employ a wedding planner for is to coordinate your wedding day. Sometimes couples are not aware that this is an option. Some of us, and I for sure specialise in “On The Day Coordination”.

If you are anything like me planning my own wedding was like embarking on the most fabulous journey ever. Even though I was not a typical “wedding person” I became totally enthralled from beginning to end. At times it completely took over my life and I forgot why I was getting married in the first place. Sometimes my budget became a life force all of its own threatening to get bigger than the national debt! But, on the happy day I had the most fabulous time and I can really say as most brides do, it was the best day of my life!

But!! Is there a but? Yes, my only regret was not having enough help in the run up to the wedding and on the day itself. I spent the weeks before chasing round after suppliers, making sure everyone was happy and that everything was just so. Your wedding party can help but if you are like me I wanted to spend time with them and not have them running round after everyone. I had spent months planning for everyone to enjoy themselves.

In doing so, the day before the wedding I was so stressed when I should have been chilled out spending time with my closest friends and family that it really threatened to overshadow my big day. Luckily I am a person who loves lists and organising so I managed to juggle everything and still enjoy my day. Although big chunks of it were spent worrying about if the tables looked ok, had the flowers arrived, how were the cakes arranged? Its no lie when everyone tells you that your wedding day flies by, it certainly does. My food threatened to be ruined because we spent too much time taking photographs, no one really was pointing out times etc.

That’s when I thought I thought of The Wedding Genie, a company that specialised in “On The Day Coordination”. Couples could handover their plans a few weeks before the wedding. Sheer bliss, I meet you at the venue if possible with the venue staff there. We go through everything and I take a list of all the suppliers and plans. After that you can sit back and pamper yourselves in the run up to the wedding. I contact everyone to double check arrangements and give my couples weekly updates so they can be sure everything is on track. You also have an email and phone buddy just in case you start to worry. My brides can wake up on their wedding day, take off their watches and enjoy every single minute whilst I organise everything behind the scenes. You may have a venue coordinator, but generally although they are great, their responsibility is to look after the food and wine. Mine is to completely look after you.

On the day I greet all the suppliers; create a timeline so everyone knows what to do. I even greet your guests, if you don’t mind, and bring my emergency kit. It contains everything from suntan lotion; batteries and umbrellas to battery operated fans in case it’s hot, and even spare tights etc. If anything goes wrong it’s my job to sort it out so that you don’t even know about it.

A friend of mine in the wedding industry has a brilliant saying; a Wedding Coordinator should be the guardian of your wedding day vision. This is exactly my philosophy. It’s also affordable and I don’t mind travelling. If you are not convinced about a coordinator, my best advice is to delegate!!!

Get your bridesmaids to help, give them each something to do and brief them before the wedding day. Ask your best man and ushers to help re seating and photographs. Make sure you are not running around, you need to be calm and enjoy your day and luxuriate in getting ready, concentrate on enjoying every minute, its speeds by like a train. You planned it!! Please enjoy it!

Jane Fraser-Cross President Monrose Charity Appeal put on A Glamorous Fashion Show In aid of HELP FOR HEROES (Coldstream guards Afghanistan appeal) on Wednesday 26th January at Carpenters Arms Boldmere

Next-One Fashion...High Street Designer Brands selling from as little as £5 ,A Make Up Demonstration by EstherMarie, Hair by Trilogy Hair Salon Boldmere, Fabio Dericci Hand Bags, Jane`s Gems Costume Jewellery, Wardrobe Boutique Shoes.
The hall was packed and we had a great time, learning from from the experts and everyone bagged a bargain.
Jane Fraser-Cross who in the last 12 months has also put on a Fashion show May, Varity show September and Christmas dinner in December has been working very hard for the Charity and was delighted with the £700 money raised.

Jane will be presenting the cheque to 2 Coldstream Guards at the Wardrobe Fashion Boutique in Sutton Coldfield on the 17th February between 11-2pm

FOUR West Midlands businesswomen are joining forces to offer budding female entrepreneurs advice and guidance as they begin their journeys on the road to riches. ,

Entrepreneurs Pam Neaves: Clare Whalley, and Esther Woolley, of Sutton Coldfield, and Sharon Louca, of , Tamworth, want to share their experiences and encourage other women to follow in their footsteps as they launch their businesses,

The friends, whose firms are thriving despite the tough economic climate, believe their business tips for
those just setting up, or for businesswomen' feeling the effects of the , recession, could mean the difference between success and failure,

They will be staging a business advice drop-in session at The RoyalHotel, High Street, Sutton Coldfield,
from lOam to 12,30pm on Thursday, June 10th

Pam, owner of Mint Creative Solutions, said: "Inspired and motivated in part perhaps by the high profile
successes of entrepreneurs-and TV business shows such as Dragons' Den, .more women than ever are considering establishing a business: '

"Statistics show that one in three start-up businesses fail, so what is it that drives these women, makes them so career obsessed and keeps them driven to achieve their goals more so than ever before? '

"We want to share our experiences to give other women.a great start on the road to success."

"Meta-4's Clare Whalley, a business and personal coach, said: "Having clearly defined goals and not letting anyone talk you out of them is vital.

"Keep yourself surrounded with positive people and ditch anyone who doesn't believe you can do it, or restrict the amount of time you spend with them.

Clare works with a variety of clients whose goals vary from growing their business and improving their presentation skills, to changing their career to one they can love.

"I've always known what I want to achieve, and being totally focused towards achieving it has helped me get there, and stay there," she added. '

Sharon Louca, owner of Your Local PA, said: "Having a passion for helping other businesses is the '
secret of my success. I set up Your 'Local Pa -a virtual secretarial support company -during the recession , having.recognised a need to support small businesses with all aspects of: -their paperwork, admin and organization during this very difficult period."

Esther Woolley, of EstherMarie Make Up and Beauty, believes attitude plays a major role in determining success of failure. Since .establishing her business in 2006 she has learnt a lot of valuable lessons.

Directions: The Arden Hotel is on the A45 (Coventry Road) close to M42 J6. Every year Proms are getting bigger and better.... I’m amazed at the stunning Prom dresses that you can now get so it’s important to have the Hair and Make Up perfect to make your outfit come alive!

Planning your prom outfit can be very stressful but it need not be... with a little time taken with the experts you can have great fun preparing for your big night.

Due to the demand I now run Prom Make Up workshops (email me at info@esthermarie.co.uk for more information)... it’s a great night with your friends and for just £15 per guest you can lean all you need to know about skin care and how to create a stunning Make Up look in 2 hours, and you will have the skills you have learnt ready for your next night out on the town!

To make things easier, I have compiled the five prom makeup musts for this year's event. If you live by these prom makeup tips you won’t look boring or too much like your regular, everyday self for this year's prom. Have fun..

What’s your best feature.... ??? This is the key to not looking over done!

If you focus on your eyes then create a Smokey eye look... by that I don’t mean lots of black eyeliner... soft deep grey or brown eye shadow smudged under your eye will create this... you should not let the eye shadow take over your eye shape it should enhance and define your eye. Apply a natural colour or a sheer gloss to your lips.

If you choose to focus on your lips, you'll want to go bright. Red is hot for prom, as are dark pinks. Just stay away from brown (leave it for your grandmother) and make sure you keep your eye makeup soft and simple

Create a flawless skin tone

Everyone tries to get a perfect skin tone... but if it’s not done correctly can make your skin look worse and highlight the imperfections you are trying to conceal. The best thing is to use a good moisturiser and skin care weeks before your prom (that’s why the EstherMarie prom workshops are so good because you get your skincare sorted out in advance too) I use a wide range of creams but you can get matifying creams that are great if your skin get shiny and replenishing oils if your skin is dry.

Always apply your foundation first, then conceal afterwards.. Remember that there are lots of concealers out there!! Don’t use a concealer for blemishes to cover darkness under your eyes!! Not only is the product too heavy but some brands are medicated so can cause your eye to puff up! Or be sore.. Also if your concealer is too oily it can make your mascara smudge!! Quite key when you want to look flawless!

Your brows define your eyes!

When you have perfectly shaped brows, you can look great even without a drop of makeup. This is why brow-shaping should be done as your weekly beauty regimen you should never skip. To make the most of them on your big night apply a warm shade of brown or grey using a pencil or matte eye shadow to the hairs of your eyebrows then comb the with brow fix gel.. Every client I do this to is stunned by how much better your brows look and continue to do on a regular basis..

How to look perfect on a photo!

To save all the images from your fantastic once in a life time Prom event you need to make sure you get on as many photos as you can.. To ensure you look your best..

Carry with you a pressed powder and a puff! Blot away any shine, normally on the nose and chin area (I’m sure there will be lots from all the dancing) this will give your skin the look that you get on the front page of the magazines

Top up your lips with colour.. So carry with you a lip liner and gloss to reapply those sexy lips

Flaunt you best angle.. We all have a good and a bad side! Remember it’s not just your face you want to get on the photo.. It’s your dress and shoes too!! Learn to look your best and have a night in with the girls planning that perfect pose! Take lots of photos and review them on your computer.. Great fun!

Finally have fun with your friends..

As I said earlier don’t just plan your big day.. Have a girl’s night in and help each other do their makeup, remembering you could have an EstherMarie Make up prom workshop event at your home for £15 each. I would bring the entire make up Brushes and mirrors you need! Try all your dresses on and have fun taking lots of photos, Practice your dancing moves so you look hot!

There are lots you can do on your run up to your big day.. So don’t panic! Enjoy

A great night was had by all and it was great to see the new confidence in the way they looked and developed application skills that you will never forget and that will last a life time.

I founded EstherMarie in 2004 using my 22 years of knowledge working within the fashion and cosmetic industries.

In this time I travelled Europe working with numerous leading names including;

Max Factor Cosmetics, The Lancaster Group UK Cosmetics, Suncare and fragrances, Revlon International, La Perla Lingerie, Swimwear and fashion.

I also work as a Make-Up artist for brands including Lisa Shepherd Hair and The Wardrobe Fashion Boutique, industry exhibition shows including the ‘clothes show live’. I am also the Beauty editor for streetsAHEAD magazine.

Understanding that Make-Up can play an important role to develop confidence and gain self esteem I set up EstherMarie Make-Up Workshops and Events to pass my knowledge onto others in a fun and relaxed environment.
